Transfers between your own accounts
Moving money from checking to savings, or paying your credit card from checking, is neither income nor an expense. RevvFi detects a transfer when the bank marks it as one and a matching opposite amount appears in another linked account within three days, or when it is a credit card payment matched within five days. Transfers are left out of income and spending totals and listed in their own Transfers section on the Transactions screen.
- A payment to a credit card that is not linked to RevvFi cannot be matched, so it counts as an expense. Link the card, or mark the transaction by hand.
- Money moved between a business account and a personal account is treated as an owner draw or contribution, which feeds Owner Pay.
- If detection gets it wrong, Settings → Linked accounts → Reclassify transfers re-runs it, and you can always edit the single transaction.
- Transfers cannot be categorized, and connected assistants can never delete them.
Refunds
A refund is not income. It keeps the category of the purchase it refunds and reduces that category's total, so a returned $300 monitor takes $300 back out of Equipment. Rules never recategorize refunds.
Income
Income has no category. The only choice is the Business income switch, which decides whether a deposit counts toward your business income and tax estimate. Use + Income on the Transactions screen to add income by hand, or the Expense / Income switch on a bank-synced row if RevvFi got the direction wrong. Switching a row to income clears its business category.
