Where to look
The Budget screen's Business tab has the two cards: Set aside for taxes (with Adjust) and Quarterly payments · {year} (with Record a payment). The Deductions screen shows the deductions side of the same math.
What the estimate includes
RevvFi estimates federal tax on your year-to-date net business income (business income minus deductions, adjusted for your ownership share in a shared business):
- Self-employment tax on 92.35% of profit: Social Security 12.4% up to the wage base ($184,500 for 2026), Medicare 2.9%, and the 0.9% additional Medicare tax above $200,000 ($250,000 married). No SE tax under $400 of net earnings.
- Federal income tax using the standard deduction and brackets for your filing status, after deducting half of SE tax.
- The 20% qualified business income deduction, the child tax credit ($2,200 per dependent), and the 2025 to 2028 tips deduction where it applies.
Not included: state and local tax, other credits, and anything from a W-2 job. The screen says it: Suggested amounts are estimates from your YTD numbers, not tax advice.
The set-aside target
Smart mode sets aside the estimated effective rate on your net business income and shows ~N% effective rate. Flat % lets you choose a percentage yourself. Either way the card shows the next estimated payment date.
Settings that change the numbers
Tap Adjust: Filing status (Single, Married, Head of household), Dependents, Last year's total tax (optional) and Prior-year AGI was over $150k. The last two switch on the safe-harbor calculation below.
Quarterly payment suggestions
- Due dates: April 15, June 15, September 15, and January 15 of the next year (moved to Monday when they fall on a weekend).
- RevvFi annualizes your year-to-date set-aside. If you entered last year's tax, the target is the lower of the safe harbor (100% of last year's tax, or 110% if your prior AGI was over $150,000) and 90% of this year's estimate.
- Payments you record are subtracted and the remainder is spread over the quarters left. Record a payment asks for quarter, amount and date.
- A Quarterly taxes due soon push goes out a week before and the day before each date (Settings → Notifications → Quarterly tax reminders).
Gig platforms that pay net of fees
From tax year 2026, once the year has ended, the Deductions screen's Gig app tax summaries card lets you add a platform's yearly tax summary, 1099-K, 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC. If the document reconciles with what RevvFi has, your income is restated gross and the platform's fees become a deduction; if it does not reconcile, nothing changes and RevvFi tells you. I didn't get a 1099 records that you were not issued one.
